Indie at Spring Dub
When we were invited to the ElectrAA show in Malvern, we were excited.
Not only because we love to show Indie off, and this show was for EV enthusiasts, but also because it gave Indie the chance to travel there under her own steam – or electrons.
Home to Malvern is 170 miles; that’s three charges. We worked it out – a stop for breakfast (and a haircut) in Barnsley, a stop for lunch and a bit of shopping in Derby and an overnight stop in Dudley ready for a nice early start down to Malvern on the Sunday. We arrived to a warm welcome from the Zoe owners club and free parking for our LEAF. We pulled Indie onto the park near the bandstand and set up.
This time we remembered to bring food as we were so busy talking that there wasn’t time to leave the pitch. It was great to meet several of our twitter followers and they were glad to see Indie for real. A personal highlight was meeting Robert Llewellyn and lots of good nerdy chats with the guys from Indra and Electric Classic Cars. The event was sponsored by Ecotricity and they got some barracking for their “charging for charging” news. We want to put a rapid charger on the next eDub, and as Ecotricity customers, we get 50 rapid charges for free!
Indie behaved perfectly, she got lots of interest from lovely people and we got lots of ideas for the next eDub, so a good time was had by all.
